Updated: Jan 20, 2021

Tanudan, Kalinga― Municipal Health Office of Tanudan, Dr. Sandra Glynn Valledor, said in an interview that the municipality expected the surge of Covid-19 cases after the holidays as predicted by the national government and prepared for the worse case scenario.

Although the municipality was not spared by the increase of cases in the province of Kalinga, Tanudan was one of those municipalities which made pre-emptive measures against possible wider spread and transmission.

Valledor, nevertheless, reiterated their constituents the avoidance of crowded places, wearing of face mask and face shield when going out and regular hand washing as their way of cooperation in the ongoing battle with the virus.

The MHO informed that the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) molecular laboratory has a new memo regarding scheduling of swab specimen to be accepted at their institution. As a response, she said swab specimen of patients to be tested are limited to those swabbed from January 19-24, 2021.

The regular swabbing, however, shall resume on January 25, 2021, Monday.

As of January 18, Tanudan recorded 33 active CoViD-19 cases in which 1 is currently admitted at the Kalinga Provincial Hospital.

Meanwhile, Mayor Jaedicke Dagadag calls on the residents to strictly abide by the health protocols and refrain from going out if it is not for important matters as this could be of big help in fighting against the virus.
