Tabuk City, Kalinga – During the declaration of Kalinga under the State of Stable Internal Peace and Security (SSIPS) earlier this week, the Local Government Unit of Pinukpuk reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining peace and order in the province.

During the province-wide declaration ceremony on May 12 at the Kalinga Sports Complex, Pinukpuk Vice Mayor Shirlynne Dasayon-Alunday emphasized that the event should not only be viewed as a historic milestone, but also as a reminder for everyone to continue working together to ensure that the peace achieved will endure.

She further stressed that sustaining peace requires continued unity and cooperation among all sectors.

“May this event be not just a ceremonial occasion but also a reminder of our collective obligation and responsibility to maintain peace and security in our province,” said Alunday.

Representing Mayor Jimmy Dasayon, Alunday then conveyed the municipality’s strong support for efforts aimed at preserving peace and order in Kalinga.

“On behalf of our honorable mayor, Jimmy Dasayon, and the whole people of Pinukpuk, I stand before you to declare our full and strong support for the declaration of a State of Stable Internal Peace and Security in our municipality and our province,” she added.

The vice mayor also acknowledged the efforts of those who helped make Kalinga insurgency-free, saying, “I would like to thank the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Philippine National Police, fellow public officials, the whole people of Pinukpuk and Kalinga, and all those who worked toward peace and security.”

Pinukpuk, along with the other seven LGUs in the province, received the Seal of SSIPS during the event in recognition of its unwavering efforts to sustain peace and stability in Kalinga.

Kalinga Governor James Edduba and Vice Governor Dave Odiem; DILG-CAR Assistant Director Rupert Maribbay Jr.; Kalinga Police Provincial Office Director PCOL Gilbert Fati-ig; 103rd IB Commanding Officer LTC Jimrhic Obias; 5th Infantry Division Commander MGEN Gulliver Señires; Police Regional Office-CAR Director PBGEN Ericson Dilag; and Northern Luzon Command Deputy Commander BGEN Dean Mark Mamaril personally handed over the plaque of recognition to the municipality.
