Man died, 2 children missing in Baguio landslide

Baguio City, Philippines – A landslide that happened on October 11 in Baguio City killed a man and left two children still missing.


The children are still being searched by the authorities and civilians.


At the height of the Typhoon ‘Maring’ on Monday, a house in Marosan Alley, Dominican-Mirador, was covered by a landslide, trapping three individuals.


This prompted the different government personnel and volunteer civilians to launch search and retrieval operations.


In an update from the Public Information Office – City of Baguio, the body of an adult male was finally found at around 11:37 AM this October 12 by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

The search for the two children is still ongoing.


Earlier, three children ages 2, 6 and 8 were reported to have died after being buried by a landslide in Central Purok Ubbog, Ambiong, La Trinidad Benguet this October 11.


The kids were eating dinner with their parents when the incident happened.


The kids’ parents survived while the three were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
