Mayor Abay commends FIVE new PNPA graduates from Tinglayan; TWO join the Special Action Force

Tinglayan, Kalinga – As five more iTinglayan sons and daughters prepare to embark on their journey of serving and protecting the Filipino people, the Tinglayan municipal government has urged them to uphold integrity, discipline, and excellence in the performance of their duties at all times.


The newly commissioned officers from Tinglayan are PLT Rhey Steve Banglag Lagasi, PLT Joshua Langkit Tongyofen, PLT Bryle Conwil Pa-in Osleg, PLT April Jasmine Basing-at Lagasi, and PLT Shane Patrick Saggob Matnao. They are members of the PNPA “Silang-Paglaom” Class of 2026, who graduated on March 27.


On April 6, Tongyofen, a native of Bangad, and Osleg, from Poblacion, paid a courtesy visit to the Municipal Hall, where they were welcomed by Mayor Charles Abay, represented by Municipal Administrator Atty. Mark Dave Bang-as, and Vice Mayor Alexander Malasi.


During the courtesy visit, Atty. Bang-as commended the two officers for successfully completing their four-year rigorous training and education at the PNPA, and for their perseverance in achieving their dreams and aspirations. He also relayed Mayor Abay’s message, encouraging them to always adhere to integrity, discipline, and excellence, noting that these values will make their duty to serve and protect more meaningful.


Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Malasi, a retired police officer, echoed the mayor’s message and further urged the newly commissioned officers to always uphold the law, respect human rights, and maintain a high standard of morality.


Both Tongyofen and Osleg have been assigned to the Special Action Force (SAF), the Philippine National Police’s premier elite unit and most specialized tactical force.
