Tabuk City, Kalinga – A total of 81 medical facilities across the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) are now accredited under the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) GAMOT program, significantly expanding access to free and subsidized medicines for members and strengthening the implementation of the government’s primary care initiative in the region.

The Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment (GAMOT) program helps members access free or affordable medicines as part of primary care services. Through PhilHealth YAKAP, patients can consult a doctor at an accredited clinic, receive a prescription, and claim their medicines from participating pharmacies.

Of the 81 facilities, 17 are located in Kalinga, making the province the second highest in terms of accredited facilities, next to Benguet. These include Almora General Hospital, Ambigatton Multi-Purpose Cooperative Pharmacy, Farmacia Bravo, Farmacia Bravo-II, Generika Drugstore (Dagupan Centro), Generika Drugstore (Bulanao), Hess Pharmacy, and Holy Trinity Medical Clinic, among others.

Other accredited facilities in the province include Leigh Pharma and Medical Supplies Distribution, MMCDC Pharmacy, Primedrug Pharma and Medical Supplies Trading, S.M Pharmacy, San Juan General Hospital, St. Jude’s Multispecialty Hospital Inc., Tabuk City Health Services Office – Main, Tabuk City Health Services Office – Health Center I, and Tabuk City Health Services Office – Health Center IV.

The remaining accredited facilities are located in other provinces, with three in Abra, five in Apayao, 15 in Baguio City, 19 in Benguet, 14 in Ifugao, and eight in Mountain Province.

With the accreditation of these medical facilities, PhilHealth-CAR underscores its commitment to making healthcare more accessible and affordable for members across the region.
