Besao, Mountain Province – The Besao Philippine National Police (PNP) headed by Officer-in-Charge, Police Lieutenant (PLT) Napoleon Ledchi decided to contribute from their own pockets to help two deserving students finish their studies.

Beneficiaries are Edelyn Guesaed of Dandanac, Tamboan, Besao and Jessa Agomma of Maliten, Laylaya, Besao. They were the first to benefit said financial support from the Besao PNP, who were known to have assisted members of the community through their own initiative.

Ledchi, in an interview, disclosed that this is his way of initiating a scholarship grant, which he claimed is “a group effort or group ideas of the Municipal Police Station” particularly for barangays influenced by terrorist groups.

Ledchi said ‘scholars’ were selected based on those who were endorsed by the barangay officials.

“Pinagpili mi isuda nu sino ti mabalin nga pamilya ken diay talaga a nga matalek nga ageskwela,” he explained.

According to Ledchi, they awarded the cash assistance to Guesaed and Agomma during their regular flag ceremony this morning.

Scholars to do their part

“Grab this opportunity nga ited ti kapulisan ket at the same time aramiden da met lang ti byang da tapnu ti nam-ay ket maipa-ay kanyada tun nu malpas da nga ag-skwela ket tumulong dan tu met ken dagiay nakurapay ngem nabaknang iti ayat.
