New Cordillera top cop visits Kalinga, encourages police ‘work effectively’

Updated: Sep 24, 2022

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The newly designated Cordillera Police Regional Director visited uniformed men and women in Kalinga on August 18, motivating them to work effectively but not to do all the work beyond their duties to avoid stressing themselves too much.

Kalinga police are known for hard work, especially in maintaining peace and safety as well as in their fight against illegal drugs.

Police Brigadier General Mafelino Bazar formally assumed post as the regional director of the Cordillera on August 13, 2022, replacing Police Brigadier General Ronald Lee.

On Thursday, Bazar paid his first command visit at the Kalinga Police Provincial Office as part of his initiative to maintain a strong partnership and to sustain the peace and order within his area of responsibility.

According to KPPO, the new Cordillera police chief urged the police in the province to render service and assistance to the people the fastest way they can. He likewise encouraged them to remain motivated in working effectively and not to put too much pressure on themselves and help one another in accomplishing their tasks.

“Huwag akuhin lahat ng trabaho, huwag istresin ang sarili,” he said.

During his visit in Kalinga, Bazar also presided the conference attended by the key personnel of Kalinga police along with the different chief of police in the province and the head of the national support units.

Meantime, among Bazar’s plans in serving as the Police Regional Director in Cordillera is to deploy more police on the streets especially to crime-prone places and areas of convergence. He said that the ones who will be left at the office will be performing administrative works while the rest patrol the streets.
