La Trinidad, Benguet – A buy-bust operation in La Trinidad earlier this week led to the arrest of a 28-year-old woman caught in possession of suspected marijuana worth over ₱1,000,000.

According to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–Cordillera (PDEA-CAR), as reported by a local media outlet, the operation was conducted on Tuesday, March 10, by the Regional Special Enforcement Team Alpha (RSET Alpha) in coordination with the Benguet Police Provincial Office–Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station.

Authorities said the woman was apprehended after attempting to sell 10 tubular packages wrapped in transparent plastic, each containing dried marijuana stalks with an estimated market value of around ₱1.2 million.

The seized items were documented by anti-narcotics operatives at the scene and subsequently submitted to a crime laboratory for examination to confirm the contents.

Now in PDEA-CAR custody, the suspect will face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which penalizes the sale and distribution of illegal drugs.

Authorities are also conducting a background investigation to determine whether the suspect is linked to a larger distribution network.

While her name has not been publicly disclosed, the suspect is reportedly a resident of Barangay Ambiong, La Trinidad.
