Tabuk City, Kalinga― The Balawag Barangay Council is requesting for an allocation amounting to PhP25,000,000 for the improvement and concreting of the 4-kilometer Balawag Proper to Paligatto Farm-to-Market (FMR) road in this city.

Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod presided by Vice Mayor Bernard Glenn Dao-as approved the letter from Councilor Jerome Chester Alunday transmitting the request of fund allocation to the office of President Rodrigo Duterte through Senator Bong Go during their regular session on June 10.

On October 05, 2020, Balawag Barangay Council under the leadership of Punong Barangay Jerry Donga crafted Resolution No. 29, Series of 2020 requesting the President for an allocation of fund for the development of said FMR.

The road concreting and improvement of the farm-to-market road is being sought due to the transportation difficulties of the people from the barangay, specially when delivering their products to the market.

The resolution also indicated the need to construct a car bridge across the Tobog Creek which is part of the 4-kilometer FMR. Said bridge component has increased the amount to PhP25 million to ensure its realization.

On the other hand, Department of Agriculture-CAR has verified the proposal of said Balawag-Paligatto FMR road improvement reporting feasible results in their May 11, 2021.

Meantime, members of the SP will then craft a resolution endorsing the matter.
