'P25M Regional Warehouse and Logistics Hub in Kalinga now operational'-OCD Codillera

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The first Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Resilience Management Council (RDRRMC) Warehouse and Logistics Hub erected at the Kalinga Capitol is now operational, says Civil Defense Cordillera on Tuesday, August 02, 2022.

To recall, the provincial government under former Governor Ferdinand Tubban donated the lot where the P25 million worth inter-agency warehouse and logistics hub stands, with the realization that more lives can be saved during calamities and disasters with the storage warehouse.

The former governor earlier stressed that with the warehouse, needed services and emergency supplies can be transported faster not only in Kalinga but also in Apayao, Mt. Province, including parts of Ifugao.

In a press release, the Office of the Civil Defense-CAR disclosed that a total of 3,700 family food packs from DSWD Warehouse in Tuguegarao City were delivered to the said facility, as facilitated by the Food and Non-Food Items Cluster of the Cordillera RDRRMC.

The stored food packs, the office said, shall be utilized for disaster-related emergencies, especially with the situation following the powerful 7.0 Northwestern Luzon quake which affected 1,568 families in the province.

“This is important as our goal is to further develop and maintain primary and secondary logistics hubs in the region, to be used for the prepositioning of food and non-food items and to support the needs and augment the resources of our provinces in the northern part of the region,” stated Civil Defense Cordillera.
