P2M marijuana destroyed in Tinglayan: around 10,000 plants uprooted and burned

Tinglayan, Kalinga – P2,000,000 worth of Marijuana plants were destroyed by the operatives in the province on the weekend December 26, 2020.


According to Kalinga Police Provincial Office, at least 10,000 plants were uprooted and burned from an estimated land area of 1,000 square meters at an identified mountainous area in Bugnay, Tinglayan.


This operation is part of the clearance of all drug affected barangays in the province. However, no cultivator was apprehended during the operation.

Further, the eradication was conducted by joint efforts of personnel from the Provincial Intelligence Unit – Kalinga, Tinglayan Municipal Police Station, 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, Regional Intelligence Division – PRO Cor and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Kalinga.


Meanwhile, P630,000 worth of Marijuana plants were discovered and eradicated in 3 sitios in Barangay Badeo, Kibungan, Benguet.

PNP Cordillera FB Page reported that destroyed plants include at least 2,500 fully grown Marijuana plants with a standard drug price of P500,000 and 3,250 marijuana seedlings worth P130,000.
