Pasil, Kalinga – The municipality of Pasil, under the leadership of Mayor Alfredo “Chao-ig Malannag through its Municipal Health Services Office (MHSO), extended gratitude to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) for granting their request for medical assistance.

MHS Officer Dr. Aldrin Siwao received the medical assistance composing 2,000 gift packs, 5 nebulizers, 5 pulse oximeters, and 5 wheelchairs during the opening of PCSO’s 71st Branch Office in Quirino Province on December 19, 2021.

PCSO-Kalinga Manager Rommel B. Ramos said the amount of the medical supplies given to the municipality was not yet disclosed by the main office since the personnel are busy providing assistance to those severely affected by Typhoon Odette.

How Pasil availed for the grant

According to Dr. Siwao, the local government unit of Pasil and MHSO requested medical assistance last month based on the prescribed template of PCSO.

The request for the said assistance, he explained, is for senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS).

Since PCSO has yet to give the remaining 490 gift packs, the MHSO prioritized vaccinated recipients. The distribution of gift packs to PWDs in Barangay Malucsad was done on December 25 during their Christmas Party.

In a Facebook post of the MSHO, it said,“Jakor on iyaman hi PCSO pati an Mayor CHAO-IG MALANNAG on nan request hin yana on gift packs. Hin Pasil RHU on nan facilitate hijan yanan request ya nan follow-up,” with pictures of personnel handing over another set of gift packs to PWDs and senior citizens in Barangays Ableg and Dalupa.

Dr. Siwao, along with Mayor Malannag, thanked the agency for continuously lending a hand to communities in need.

It can be recalled that PCSO turned over P98,900.00 worth of medicines and personal protective equipment (PPE) coverall to the municipality through Dr. Siwao during its celebration of 87th Anniversary on October 31, 2021.
