Tabuk SP requests P50M from the Office of Cong. Mangaoang for road slope reconstruction, recovery

Tabuk City, Kalinga – To prevent landslides and soil erosions along the Bado Dangwa -Magnao road, the Sangguniang Panlungsod writes a letter requesting P50 million funding from the Office of Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang for the reconstruction and recovery of the road’s slope protection.

Through Resolution No. 149 series of 2021, the SP members headed by Vice Mayor Bernard Glenn Dao-as cited that the Bado Dangwa-Magnao-Guilayon-Nambucayan road which was constructed in 2020 through the Philippine Rural Development Program (PRDP) requires the re-construction of its slope protection structures after being damaged by recent typhoons.

The august body reasoned that the destruction of the slope protection is causing continual erosions of the mountainsides, especially during the rainy season, resulting in the accumulation of soil along the paved road, making it risky for motorists to traverse.

The SP stressed that the muddy and slippery road could cause possible vehicular accidents.

The resolution further provides that ‘the immediate reconstruction and recovery of slope protection structures along the PRDP road towards the aforesaid barangays will be of great advantage both to the convenience, safety and welfare of the transport sector and their commuters regularly passing through the newly constructed all-weather PRDP road.’

Said resolution was adopted by the body last July 22, 2021.
