Tanudan beauty is 2nd runner-up Cordillera Autonomy Youth Ambassador 2022

Tanudan, Kalinga – Tanudan’s Miss Laggunawa Earene Joy Dawagan finished second runner-up in the 2022 Cordillera Autonomy Youth Ambassador Search which happened July 30 - the first ever pageant for youth advocates in the quest for regional autonomy.

CAR remains an administrative region after having failed to become autonomous in two plebiscite attempts.

It is hoped that with the participation of the youth, the next try could get more support from the younger age group.

Dawagan, although she was not able to capture the crown, said she will take responsibility for her stand to support the region’s pursuit for autonomy.

When asked by Guru Press Cordillera about her greatest takeaway from the search, she said she learned a great deal from the people she met during her preparation days for the pageant and the coronation day.

Dawagan further described the journey as ‘worthwhile’ and ‘purposeful’.

“My journey was worthwhile and purposeful for I have learned a lot from the passionate and dedicated speakers whom we met, my fellow candidates, my mentors, and loved ones,” she expressed.

The Tanudan beauty thanked the Local Government Unit of Tanudan, the Kalinga Provincial LGU, her mentors, handlers, family and relatives for the support they poured upon her during her journey in the search for this year’s Cordillera Autonomy Youth Ambassador.

Dawagan noted that said people kept her from backing out when she doubted herself and her ability to represent the province in the said search.

The male candidate of Kalinga, Shawn Michael Barila and Abra's female representative, Angela May Respicio won the title for Mr. and Ms. Cordillera Autonomy Youth Ambassador 2022, respectively.
