Tabuk City, Kalinga – Reaffirming his commitment to principled governance, re-elected Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Member Glenn Julius Amla emphasized more accomplishments and better quality work in his second term.

The provincial legislator is known for his “Quarry Ordinance” that made the Kalinga PLGU earn at least P3.7 million since its implementation.

The Provincial ordinance No. 2023 – 030 – an ordinance providing for the imposition of an administrative fee on the transport of sand, gravel, and other quarry resources extracted within the territorial jurisdiction of the province of Kalinga – set corresponding fines to violators and aided in minimizing bigger damage to environment.

The ordinance contributed to the reduction of some of the financial challenges being faced by the provincial government.

On July 7, Amla, who has taken office following the oath taking on June 30, expressed gratitude at seeing his re-election as a renewed trust and commitment to the iKalingas during his speech in the PLGU’s flag-raising ceremony at the Kalinga Sports Center.

Acknowledging the crowd of government officials and other stakeholders, the returning Board Member delivered his speech dedicating his victory to every iKalinga, calling their trust as his inspiration to serve with integrity.

“Kadagiti ay-ayaten tayo a konstituente, saan laeng a kukuak daytoy a balligi, no di ket kukua tayo amin. Ibinglay ko dayta iti tunggal mannalon, tunggal agtutubo, tunggal trabahador, tunggal nagannak, ken tunggal pamilia nga agar-arapaap iti nasaysayaat a biag. Ti panagtalek yo ket agpada nga inspirasyon ko ken karit ko nga agaramid iti ad-adu pay, agserbi a nasaysayaat, ken mangidaulo buyogen ti kinadalus,” he shared.

As he starts his second term, Amla called on his fellow officials to unite with purpose, make the next three years count, and prove that public service is a mission—not just a position.

“To my fellow officials, let us work together— united by a shared purpose. They offered us another chance to make a difference, let us make it [in the] next three years count. Paneknekan tayo a ti serbisiyo-publiko ket saan a posisiyon, no di ket maysa a mission,” the Board Member concluded.
