Tinglayan implements stricter measures due to UK Covid-19 variant cases in Bontoc

Tinglayan, Kalinga – With Bontoc, Mountain Province where there are confirmed Covid-19 cases with the UK variant being closest to Tingalayan, the LGU is implementing stricter measures on entry.


In an interview by Guru Press Cordillera wuth Mayor Sacrament Gumilab, he said the municipality is now limiting travels and issuance of travel permits to individuals who wish to go outside the province.

As part of the guidelines for GCQ areas, Tinglayan residents are only allowed to go outside their houses when purchasing essential goods and during emergencies.


Gumilab further said those returning to the municipality have to show a negative RT-PCR swab test result upon arrival at the borders.


“Nu awan, ipan mi isuda diay holding area tayo, or ideretso mi idiay barangay isolation units, idiay mi iswab isuda inggana rumwar ti result ti swab test da, nu ag-negative, mabalin nga ag-home quarantine da ngem nu positive, ituloy na iti agquarantine for 14 days,” the mayor added.


Non-residents who do not present negative results of their swab test will not be permitted to enter.


Meantime, the mayor reiterated the continuous need to observe minimum health and standard protocols.
