Tabuk City, Kalinga – Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Northern Luzon Chapter Governor Atty. Voltaire Garcia reminded newly admitted iKalinga lawyers of their duties, emphasizing their commitment to fairness, respect, and devotion to the truth during a testimonial dinner held at Kiela Hall, Davidson Hotel in Bulanao on March 21, 2026.

The testimonial dinner was more than a celebration—it marked a meaningful beginning, welcoming a new generation of legal professionals ready to uphold justice and serve the people of Kalinga. The event honored the 45 newly minted iKalinga lawyers who passed the 2025 Bar Examinations.

During the program, Garcia stressed that while the new lawyers have reached a significant milestone, their journey is only beginning. He emphasized that their knowledge of the law must be matched by a steadfast commitment to fairness, respect, and devotion to the truth.

“Your journey does not end here; it begins anew. The law is not merely a profession—it is a calling to serve. Your knowledge of the law must be matched by your commitment to fairness, your respect for the courts, and your devotion to the truth. May you walk this path with integrity, guided by your oath,” Garcia said.

He also underscored the importance of humility in the legal profession, noting that learning is a continuous process and that no one possesses complete knowledge, as the law itself constantly evolves.

“Humility grounds a lawyer in the awareness that learning is continuous, that no one possesses all knowledge, and that the law itself is in constant evolution. A humble lawyer listens, learns, and grows. In a profession where intellect is often celebrated, humility ensures that wisdom prevails,” he added.

Meanwhile, Garcia also extended his congratulations to the newly admitted lawyers entering government service, emphasizing that they must embody integrity, accountability, and a strong sense of public duty. He noted that their conduct will not only reflect on them individually but will also shape public perception of the legal profession as a whole.
