Tuguegarao City under ECQ for another 10 days

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan―Mayor Jefferson Soriano announced that the city will undergo Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) for 10 days starting from 12:01 AM of March 30 to 12:00 midnight of April 8, 2021.

Said change of status from Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) to ECQ is based on the recommendation of the city government as approved by the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF).

In a press briefing, Mayor Soriano disclosed that the very high Health Care Unit Rate is the main reason of the imposition of ECQ in the city.

“Punung puno na ang mga isolation units, hospitals…sa HCUR, wala na pong paglalagyan ng ang mga patients kung magkakaroon man ng severe patient so we go for ECQ just for 10 days. Kung hindi po magi-improve after 10 days mage-extend until 14 days,” he said.

As of March 27, the city has recorded the highest number of new active cases with 113 cases in a day while a total of 513 CoViD-19 cases have been recorded as the highest number of active cases since the start of pandemic.

Meantime, he mentioned that the Office of the Civil Defense will be sponsoring a 50-bed capacity hotel accommodation for CoViD-19 patients in the city.
