Tabuk City, Kalinga – Governor Ferdinand B. Tubban on Monday, March 29, 2021, reminded Ykalingas to strictly follow the Covid-19 health safety protocols especially during the Holy Week as church goers tend to flock in attending religious services.

To reiterate this, the governor called on all the local government units to safeguard their jurisdiction by limiting the non-essential movement of people to prevent more community transmission which could result to possible surge of Covid- 19 cases.

The Barangay LGUs, he said, should be more vigilant in monitoring their respective places to prevent unnecessary activities which are not allowed under General Community Quarantine, and for the public to adhere to the directives of the provincial government.

He also noted the need for LGUs to monitor most visited places during the season and if mass gathering is unavoidable, a maximum of ten persons, he said, shall be allowed.

“Daytuy a tiempo, kailangan a mas istrikto tayo ti panagbantay iti lugar tayo tapnu maiwasan ti panagwaras daytuy a sakit ken dagituy posible nga aksidente a mabalin a mapasamak tatta a Semana Santa,” Tubban said.

“The health and safety of our people has always been of paramount,” he added.

During the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force on Wednesday, Governor Tubban through Police Provincial Director PCOL. Davy M. Limmong, directed the Philippine National Police (PNP) to strictly implement the Covid-19 protocols in all public areas.

The PNP, he said, should be on alert and ready to take necessary action against individuals who will be caught violating the Covid-19 protocols.

"Kumpleto metten ti ordinances tayun, implementing rules and guidelines, protocols, nu adda dagituy haan a sumurot, the PNP is authorized to take necessary actions for the public safety and welfare,” Tubban said.

Kalinga, being placed under General community Quarantine Status, only allows accessing essential goods and services and work in offices when it comes to movement of people.
