Tuguegarao extends ECQ until September 5

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – Tuguegarao is still under lockdown after its Enhanced Community Quarantine status is extended until September 5 due to the high number of active Covid-19 cases and health care utilization rate being at a critical level.

This August 31, the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force announced their approval on the extension of the ECQ status in Tuguegarao City.

The Tuguegarao City Information Office reports that before the City Local Government Unit requested a longer ECQ from the RIATF, they consulted with the different sectors in Tuguegarao.

During the consultation, the health workers appealed to extend the ECQ to provide more time to lower the Covid-19 case, since the health care utilization rate in Tuguegarao is still at a critical level.

This appeal was seconded by the business sectors. Thus, the request to extend the ECQ was made by the city government.

As of 4:00 PM on August 30, there are a total of 1,335 Covid-19 active cases in Tuguegarao.

Also, on August 29, the Municipality of Piat has been placed under ECQ for 14 days.
