2 dead after car fell into ravine in Tuba, Benguet

Tuba, Benguet – Two men were killed after the car they were riding in plunged off a ravine and went straight into a river at Sitio Hydro 2, Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet.

Though the incident occurred at midnight, it was only reported to authorities early on Friday morning, January 26.

A witness, upon hearing a loud noise resembling a big object falling that night, initially thought it was just a large rock.

In the morning, the witness' neighbor informed him about a car that had fallen into the river.

They immediately called for help from the Tuba police for a rescue operation.

The bodies of Bryan Saguid De Guzman, 34, married, and Jay-R Copero Corisay, 22, were later retrieved. De Guzman was a resident of Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet, while Corisay was from Taloy Norte, Tuba, Benguet.

Dr. Angeline Fucay Catalan of the Municipal Health Office of Tuba declared the two men dead.

Meanwhile, the initial investigation revealed that the Tamaraw FX had a mechanical defect while traversing the road in the area, leading to the accident.
