“Women nowadays are empowered… do things some men cannot” - NCIP PD Apaling

Tabuk City, Kalinga – NCIP Provincial Director Attorney Catherine Apaling praised the ability of women to multitask and challenges them to balance career and family life during the kick-off of the month-long celebration of women empowerment of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office on March 7, 2022.

In her message during the event conducted at Camp Captain Juan M Duyan, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga, Apaling underscored the role of women in the Kalinga community, how they evolved from playing small roles in the community to being empowered women who can do as good as men, even in leadership.

“Kalinga community before is a male-dominated community, because all the leaders and elders are men, they think that women have a minimal if not small role in the community and that they belong to the kitchen only or are bound to do household chores,” Apaling said.

“The challenge for us career women is how we are going to balance our role with our family and our work. We cannot sacrifice one over the other; women always do multi-tasking.

Women nowadays are empowered, they can do things that some men cannot” she added.

During the ceremony, Kalinga PPO awarded a commendation to dedicated uniformed and non-uniformed personnel, which was led by Atty. Apaling, assisted by PLTCOL Jomarick Felina, Deputy Provincial Director for Administration, and other key officers of Kalinga PPO.

Activities such as lectures on Protocol and Social Graces, Provincial Tourism, and Breastfeeding Tips were also given by guest lecturers.

Meanwhile, Officers Ladies Club (OLC) Kalinga Chapter announced that they will conduct an outreach program on March 11, 2022, in Tanudan, Kalinga, in line with the women’s month.
