30-yr-old drank with friends, found dead in Isabela irrigation canal later

Ramon, Isabela - A man working as a vendor was found dead after allegedly drowning in an irrigation canal in Ramon, Isabela, over the weekend. 

 

The victim was identified by the police as Arnold Arigando, 30, married, and a resident of Barangay Rosario, Santiago City, Isabela.  

 

A report from the police obtained by a local media outlet narrated that the victim’s wife informed authorities on Sunday, June 15, that her husband’s body was found in the irrigation in Purok 6, Barangay Villa Carmen.  

 

In response to the report, police officers quickly proceeded to the area to investigate and to rescue Arnold. 

 

Arriving at the scene, the police retrieved Arnold’s body from the canal and brought it to the hospital. Sadly, Arnold was declared dead on arrival.

 

In an initial investigation, Ramon Police Station found that Arnold went to the irrigation canal with his two friends. The group reportedly had a drinking session before the incident occurred.  

 

As of this writing, further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the victim’s death and whether any foul play occurred in the incident. The body was already subjected to an autopsy.
