306 households in Flora, Apayao 'graduate' from 4Ps; Mayor Juan assures aftercare aid

Flora, Apayao- Over three hundred six (306) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4ps) households in Flora are now regarded self-sufficient, the Department of Social Welfare and Development(DSWD) announced Thursday, Sept.12.

Relative to this were two consecutive Pugay Tagumpay ceremonial graduations held to honor graduate-beneficiaries for having attained level three sufficiency based on Social Welfare and Development Indicator (SWDI) Assessment.

This is a testament that the 4Ps beneficiaries of Flora have made progress and were aided by the program of the government.

On August 30, the first batch of 171 families held their graduation program at ECBJr Multi-purpose Hall, in Barangay Sta. Maria, and a second batch of 135 at the Dr. EUDSJ Memorial Sports Center, in Pob. East.

In his message, Mayor Rodolfo B. Juan congratulated the families saying that they no longer belong to the poorest families, but have advanced to a remarkable level of self-sufficiency —an indication that they are now able to provide for their families' basic needs.

However, he assured the beneficiaries that the LGU will continue to look at their welfare and offer after care services although they exited from the 4Ps program.

"Flora Local government will still be your partner in availing various employment opportunities, skills training, livelihood and educational assistance in partnership with other national line agencies," the Mayor said.

Juan also recognized and expressed gratitude to the Provincial DSWD and the MSWDO as the  government's instruments for the improved lives of his constituents. He added that their exit gives way for non-4Ps families in town who also need government support to benefit from said program.

The event was attended by SWO III 4Ps Provincial Link Michelle Ann Bermillo, MSWDO Iris Venus C. Sana, and LGU personnel.
