“Ayaten, Saan a Saktan”: Vice-Gov. Odiem’s emotional call to honor and cherish women as partners in development

Tabuk City, Kalinga – As the Provincial Government of Kalinga joins the month-long National Women’s Month celebration this March, Vice Governor Dave Odiem called on everyone to honor and support women, emphasizing their vital role in society and the importance of gender equality.


National Women’s Month is being observed every March across the country to recognize the invaluable efforts and contributions of women in various fields. It is also a way to promote gender equality and women empowerment.


During his talk, Vice Governor Dave Q. Odiem appreciated the dedication and efforts of women in government and community service.


He likewise reminded the public that behind every successful man is a woman. He also emphasized that men should cherish and protect the women in their lives and never cause them harm.


“Tatta nga bulan ket Women’s Month, isu iti bulan nga naited kanyayu para mai recognize ti gobyerno iti tulong yu…So behind the success of men is a woman…datayu nga lalaki, ti babae ket haan tayo saksaktan, ayaten tayo latta isuda,” said Odiem.


Meantime, during the event, women from various department of the PLGU, national line agencies and LGUs were serenaded in a heartfelt tribute for their efforts in promoting gender and development, empowering women, and ensuring responsive and inclusive government services.


Meanwhile, various municipalities and the City of Tabuk were recognized in the UWAWI Awards for the outstanding performance of their respective Councils for the Protection of Children and Committee on Anti Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children.
