Luna, Apayao - As part of its continuous advocacy on Basic Education, the Office of the Vice President Sarah Duterte, through Cagayan Valley SO Assistant lead Wilhelmina C. Quilang, distributed FREE 527 bags with school supplies and dental kits to the learners of (4)four identified Elementary schools in Luna, Apayao.

The distribution of said aid on Wednesday, September 24, was carried out through the OVP’s ‘Pagbabago: A Million Learners Campaign’ program, which seeks to benefit kindergarten to Grade 6 pupils.

In her message during the distribution of the aid, Quilang underscored the importance of supporting children at school, especially those from underprivileged background, so they can be encouraged to study harder and better.

‘’This assistance program, though it may be a small act, could have a big impact on the perceptions of kids, on how they see the importance of Education. Through this, they will learn to appreciate the support of the government in their learning journey,” said the OVP assistant lead.

‘’Hopefully this program will continue until 2028, and there will be more beneficiaries in this town to receive school bags,” Quilang added.

The Assistant lead, along with Mayor Januario S. Garde, personally distributed the bags to four (4) elementary schools in the municipality - San Jose Elementary School, Dagupan Elementary School, San Isidro Integrated School, and Tumog Elementary School.

Mayor Garde, meanwhile, urged the pupils to dream big, highlighting the numerous government assistance programs available to support them. The mayor likewise reminded the learners to appreciate and respect their teachers as these are actions that demonstrate good character and agreeable qualities.
