Lubuagan, Kalinga―With the active cases of COVID-19 in the municipality lowered down to only one, Lubuagan Municipal Health Officer Dr. Caroline Agyao tells residents not to be complacent but rather be more disciplined in complying with health protocols specifically on the prohibition of social gathering this Christmas break.

Agyao reiterated in an interview that attending and holding crowd-drawing events that might cause transmission of the said virus should be avoided as might turn the tide.

She also emphasized the significance of wearing of face mask and/or face shield and observance of social distancing when going out.

“Ti talaga nga kailangan nga maipalagip ti tattao diay ni gathering talaga nga ibawal, though Christmas, haanen nga aramidenen ti kakasdiay nga agmaymaysa, ag iinasideg, diay agjajamming karkaru dagiti bisita nga haan mo ammo, though negative [ti swab test] man,” she explained.

Currently, the municipality has reported 1 active case of COVID-19 after all 7 other COVID-19 patients have already recovered.

Said patient is a 20 year old male, resident of Barangay Mabongtot, Lubuagan from Baguio City.

He is transferred and currently managed at Kalinga District Hospital after a symptom of coughing is manifested.

Further, the patient has 2 recorded direct contacts with the index case and waiting for their swab results.

On the other hand, 22 returning residents are under mandatory 14-day quarantine in the Isolation Unit.

Mayor Charisma Dickpus is then hopeful that the constituents shall commemorate the yuletide season abiding the rules imposed by the local government unit.

“Awan agcar carol, agpaspapasyar ken within family latta ti gathering ta anya ngay anusan tayo latta kastoy met ti tiempo,” she uttered.
