Drug personality captured in a gunfight in Tabuk served another arrest warrant


Tabuk City, Kalinga – Authorities in the province served another standing warrant of arrest against Victor Guimba, the suspect wounded in an armed encounter with the police on September 7 in Bulanao.


According to Tabuk City Police Station, a standing warrant of arrest for violation of Presidential Decree 1866 which was issued on January 22, 2004 by Hon. Ester Piscoso Flor, Presiding Judge, RTC, Branch 34, Banaue, Ifugao. His bail for the said case was recommended at P60,000.


Guimba is currently under hospital arrest in Kalinga recovering from a gunshot injury.

It could be recalled that the 36-year-old suspect who is listed as Regional Top 10 Drug Personality had pointed his gun towards the police who was about to serve his standing warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 9165 before he sped off towards Mapaoay, Ipil on September 7.


This resulted in a police chase and armed encounter when the suspect fired against the operatives. He only stopped when the police shot the rear tire of his car that plunged into a rice field at the side of the road.


When the police approached his car, they discovered that the suspect was hit, and they rushed him to the hospital.


Other items found in his vehicle include P1,200,000 worth of dried marijuana bricks; a unit of Cal 9mm Smith and Wesson with 4 live ammunition; 2 hand grenades; P13,750 cash, and other valuables and documents.


Meanwhile, the suspect’s 18-year-old companion was also arrested during the operation.
