DSWD names 4Ps ‘Huwarang Pamilya’, ‘Exemplary Children’ in Cordillera

Baguio City, Philippines – After a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Cordillera brought back the search for Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Huwarang Pamilya and Exemplary children.


The program, launched in 2012, recognized 4Ps beneficiaries who were able to adhere to program conditions, sustain family unity, and undertake community service.


Before proclaiming its winners, a series of validations were made among city, provincial, and regional, for the nominated beneficiaries.

This year, the family of Emilia Dinamling from Kiangan, Ifugao emerged victorious and was named ‘Huwarang Pamilya’ in the Cordillera region.


Maribel Balcia and her family from Baguio City, meantime, were second placers, while Saly Briones' Family from Licuan-Baay, Abra won third.


Zara Mae Comiles of Itogon, Benguet, meantime, was proclaimed as the most ‘Exemplary child’ in the region.


Danica Chorpangan of Mountain Province and Remalyn Aguilar of Pudtol Apayao, were in second and third place, respectively.


First-place winners received cash incentives of P15,000, while second-place winners received P10,000, and P8,000 for third placers, with plaques.


Also, P2,000 consolation prizes with certificates were given to other participating families and children.


Grand winners of the search will represent the Cordillera region at the national level.


The awarding took place on Thursday, August 3, at City Travel Hotel Baguio City.
