DTI-Kalinga holds Matagoan Agro-Industrial Fair 2022 to aid local MSMEs

Tabuk City, Kalinga – To help the local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) generate sales amid the pandemic, the Department of Trade and Industry – Kalinga will be launching Matagoan Agro-Industrial Fair 2022.

The trade fair has become a part of the celebration of the Matagoan Festival, an annual event showcasing Tabuk City mixed cultures but was cancelled for two years due to movement restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The exhibit, DTI-Kalinga said, is a chance for MSMEs to display their local products to the public.

Officer-in-Charge of Industry Development Division and Trade and Promotion Officer Benedicta B. Mangadap disclosed that around 50 MSMEs under the department’s priority sectors are to participate in the event.

However, since some MSMEs need two tents for the display of their products, the department has set up a total of 86 tents. 12 are still available for occupancy as of this writing.

The booths are being prepared at the fair site in front of City Hall.

According to Mangadap, the ingress of products should have been conducted on Thursday, June 16, 2022 but was delayed.

“Medyo na-delay ti city nga nangsimpa ti fair site,” explained Mangadap but said they are thankful for all the support.

The soft opening of the exhibit was held this Friday and it will officially start on Monday, June 20.

The trade fair will run until July 3.
