Tabuk City, Kalinga – For stronger linkage and consumer information reach, the provincial Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Kalinga sealed partnership with Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) of Tabuk City on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

KALIPI, a women’s group in the town of Tabuk, is the second private organization that the department partnered with as of yet. The first partner, it said, is BIBAK Multi-Purpose Cooperative.

The Memorandum of Agreement between KALIPI-Tabuk City Chapter and DTI-Kalinga was signed at the DTI-Kalinga Provincial Office on said day.

Present in the signing were President of the women’s group Ms. Reynalyn D. Albert and the Provincial Director of DTI-Kalinga Renie M. Ramos.

“This collaboration will allow for consumer and business information and education programs to reach a greater percentage of the local population, thus improving consumer awareness and ensuring that business establishments progressively adopt ethical and consumer-friendly policies and practices,” explained the provincial department in its press release.

Both parties likewise pledged to ensure protection of consumers especially in safeguarding the buyers against unfair practices in the marketplace.
