Dump truck with 15 passengers falls into a ditch in Tabuk, 1 injured

Tabuk City, Kalinga – One out of 15 passengers was hurt after a mini dump truck fell into a ditch along the Tabuk-Tuguegarao road in Nambaran today, November 24.

According to a report from the Tabuk City Traffic Management Unit, the mini dump truck was ferrying 15 individuals, of which 8 were minors ages 1 – 17 years old.

The dump truck came from San Pascual, Rizal, and was on the way to Nambaran when the accident happened.

According to investigators, as the vehicle reached the descending portion of the road near the Iloba Resort, it lost brakes, causing it to overshoot and fall into an approximately 10-meter ditch at the side of the road.

Police Staff Sergeant Arnold Canao, an investigator on the case, mentioned that all the 15 passengers were rushed to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital, but only one sustained a minor injury in his head.

He said the 30-year-old victim was given medical intervention but was sent home along with the rest of the passengers who were unharmed.
