Tabuk City, Kalinga – Just last November, a video of a man being dragged by a group of individuals into a red vehicle in Baguio City made noise in social media with the victim’s mother and family crying for justice.

According to reports, the incident happened afternoon of November 11 and the following day, a headless body was found at Barangay Ambassador in Tublay, Benguet. The cadaver turned out to be the abducted man in the video, Harjan Lagman, 25, driver, and a resident of Barangay Irisan in Baguio City.

His family was able to identify him through his clothing, body size, and the scar on his left foot.

Initial investigation links uniformed personnel in the drug enforcement.

With the video, many individuals showed sympathy with the family and most of them tagged Raffy Tulfo in Action, a TV program that tackles issues and concerns of the people, hoping that the show will lead to justice being served.

Just this December 15, the issue was picked by the said program in which Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong was interviewed about the case. The City Mayor shared that the victim’s mother came to him personally the day before to ask for help and right after that, Magalong who is also a retired police general, called the PNP to inquire on the case.

Magalong disclosed that the men who abducted Lagman were allegedly personnel of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit in Cordillera.

“Pinadis armahan na yung mga allegedly involved dito at pinaimbestigahan,” he added.

Moreover, the police assured him that whoever committed the crime shall be held liable. He added that whether the slain individual is a criminal or an ordinary civilian, the law shall prevail.

“We will not condone it, kailangan managot ‘yong dapat managot dito sa krimen na ito,” the City Mayor stressed.

Meantime, the head of the victim who is also the bread winner of their family is still yet to be found.
