Kalinga police who sacrificed life saving 2 people awarded ‘Medalya ng Kadakilaan’

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Patrolman Joshua Linggayo, the yKalinga police who died days after saving two abducted Chinese-Filipino nationals, was awarded ‘Medalya ng Kadakilaan’.


The Philippine National Police this June 28 shared an image of Lieutenant General Vicente Danao Jr. conferring the Philippine National Police’s highest medal to Linggayo at his wake.

“On behalf po of the PNP, 225,000 officers and men, gusto po naming ibigay itong pinaka highest award sa inyo pong anak na nagbuwis ng buhay upang maisalba ang buhay ng dalawang kinidnap na biktima sa area ng Tondo,” Danao told the bereaved family.



“Hindi po masasayang ang pagod, hirap at buwis buhay ng inyong anak,” he emphasized.


The PNP Officer-in-charge further conveyed that Linggayo’s gallantry in action will forever be remembered.


Linggayo, who was from Bantay, Tabuk City, was a member of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group.


He was severely injured on June 15 after a shoot-out with the two suspects behind the abduction of a 21-year-old student and his 34-year-old businessman cousin last June 4, 2022.


Linggayo received Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting on June 18 at the hospital but on June 27, he passed away.
