Updated: 4 days ago

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The complete list of political aspirants for the May 2025 local elections in Kalinga will be released in a week following the start of the filling of the Certificate of Candidacy (COC) on Tuesday, October 01, 2024.

For the first hour of filing, the first ones to appear at the Kalinga Commission on Elections office include Governor James Edduba who is seeking a re-election; Tinglayan Mayor Sacrament Gumilab and Ret. BGen. Steve Ludan who are vying for Congressman; and Board Member Toni Bakilan who is running for Vice Governor.

Kalinga Election Supervisor, Atty. Dexter Barry Cawis mentioned that the filing period will be until October 8 and that it would be better for aspirants to come earlier and file their COC so that they can have time to rectify information that needs to be corrected before the deadline.

Cawis also reminds those who are going to seek local positions to ensure that everything in their forms is filled out and that they are to prepare 6-7 copies, 5 for the Comelec, and the rest as their file copies.

“Dapat kumpletoen da, awan iti blank. Nu adda man iti haan nga applicable idiay, they should put N/A including diay adda idiay likod, diay iti importante makitkita nga kanayun nga awan,” he said.

The campaign period for local candidates will begin in March 2025 and the casting of ballots will be on May 12 next year.
