TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Hundreds of Tabukeños availed themselves of free medical services during the first day of a two-day medical mission held on November 7 at the Lucog Elementary School Gymnasium, bringing much-needed healthcare assistance closer to residents of Lucog and nearby communities.

Residents from Lucog, Amlao, Suyang, Bantay, Dupag, and neighboring barangays participated in the activity, which provided free medical consultations and medicines.

Recipients expressed happiness and gratitude for the medical mission, particularly for the opportunity to consult with health professionals and receive medicines without having to spend for these services. They also thanked NBI Director III Atty. Gelatio Bongngat for remembering their communities and personally bringing much-needed assistance closer to them.

The medical mission was organized by the Fraternal Order of Philippine Eagles – Central Luzon Region XLV (CLR 45), the Guardians International Brotherhood Foundation Inc. (GIBFI), and Rang-Ay Eco-Adventure and Resort Inc., headed by Bongngat.

The activity was attended by Kalinga Provincial Hospital (KPH) Officer-in-Charge Dr. Raymundo Aranca, representing Governor James S. Edduba. Aranca conveyed the provincial government’s support and appreciation to the organizers and partners; philanthropist Rafael Agcaoili, identified as the CLR 45 and Universal Alliance of Eagles, Inc. (UAEI) governor; and Kalinga Board Member Glen Julius Amla.

In his message, Aranca said he was impressed by the volume of medicines provided by the organizers. Based on the medical missions he had witnessed and activities publicly reported across the province, he said the November 7 mission had one of the largest displays of medicines made available to iKalingas.

Aranca also expressed gratitude for the generosity of the organizers, particularly Agcaoili and Atty. Bonggat.

In an interview, Bongngat said health is important and he knows that his hometown, Tabut, needs additional help. Through the generosity of his friends and supporters, he was able to bring their help to the Tabukenos.

“Ammo tayo met ti kailangan dagiti kakailyan ken kalugaran tayo. Even in my private capacity add amet mabalin tayo maitulong, so we do this and we will make sure that all barangays in Tabuk will be visited and be given the help they need,” said NBI Director.

The second day of the activity was scheduled on November 8 at Gobgob Elementary School to extend the medical services to more residents.

The mission was made possible through the support of several organizations and sponsors, including RAEDANG International Builders and Developer Corp., Hinobaan Mujin Construction Inc., AESO Incorporated, AESO International Trading Corp., GIBFI, UAEI, World Philosophical Forum, Rang-Ay Eco-Adventure and Resort Inc., Alagang Gel., DOH-Kalinga, Philippine Red Cross-Kalinga, Tabuk City Health Services Office, Kalinga Provincial Hospital, Alpha Phi Omega, and volunteer nurses Haza and Valerie.
