ISABELA, Philippines — Two suspects in the fatal shooting of an Indian businessman in Ilagan City have been arrested in separate police operations in Isabela, while two other accused, including an alleged Indian national mastermind, remain at large.

The PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) reported Thursday that the two suspects, identified only by their aliases “Jun” and “War,” were arrested on November 2 in Cabagan and Naguilian, respectively.

Surjeet Singh, an Indian businessman, was shot dead outside the gate of his residence at City Homes Subdivision in Barangay Alibagu, Ilagan City, on May 23, 2026. The gunman fled on a red-and-black motorcycle.

Following the killing, police activated Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) “Singh,” with CIDG Isabela leading the investigation.

A court in Ilagan issued warrants of arrest against the suspects on October 12 for murder, with no recommended bail.

Alias “Jun,” listed as the No. 2 Regional Most Wanted Person in Cagayan Valley, was arrested at around 1:50 p.m. in Barangay Ugad, Cabagan, by a joint manhunt team composed of CIDG Isabela, Isabela Police Provincial Office Provincial Intelligence Unit, Regional Intelligence Unit Police Intelligence Team Isabela East, and Cabagan police.

At around 3:40 p.m. the same day, alias “War,” tagged as the No. 2 Provincial Most Wanted Person in Isabela, was arrested in Barangay San Manuel, Naguilian, by the manhunt team with assistance from Naguilian police.

Both suspects were detained at the Ilagan City Police Station.

Two other accused remain at large, including an alleged mastermind who is an Indian national and reportedly outside the country.
