BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – A 31-year-old woman escaped after she was allegedly abducted and slashed in the neck by her cousin, prompting Baguio City police to launch a manhunt on Friday, November 6.

PMaj. Roger Kurt Pacificar, chief of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Station 8, told Bombo Radyo Baguio that personnel of the 3rd Maneuver Platoon of the City Mobile Force Company (CMFC), stationed near the Kennon Road view deck, rescued the injured woman after she sought help.

Initial police investigation showed that the victim met her cousin, the lone suspect, at a mall in Pulilan, Bulacan, on November 5 to collect money he was supposed to lend her.

However, the suspect allegedly demanded sexual intercourse in exchange for the money.

When the woman refused, he allegedly attacked her, slashed her neck, and took her to Baguio City.

While passing through the Lion’s Head area, the victim found an opportunity to escape and seek help from a motorcycle rider in the vicinity.

The rider brought her to the nearby CMFC personnel, who immediately rushed her to a hospital for medical attention.

The CMFC coordinated with BCPO Station 8, which launched an investigation and hot pursuit operation.

Police later recovered the vehicle allegedly used by the suspect near the Lion’s Head. However, the suspect was no longer in the area when operatives arrived.

The victim is recovering while police continue their investigation and manhunt for the suspect.
