OLYMPIA, Greece – Dick Saking Jr., a 16-year-old fighter from Tabuk City, is set to face young combatants from around the world in the 2026 International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) Youth World Championships in Olympia, Greece, from November 6 to 16, 2026.

The IFMA Youth World Championships is considered the world’s largest and most prestigious youth Muaythai tournament, gathering thousands of young fighters from more than 100 countries every year. The competition also serves as a global platform for developing future elite martial artists.

Saking is one of the 15 athletes comprising this year’s Philippine delegation. He will compete in the men's Combat division under the U18-45kg category.

According to his coach at Tribu Banwar, Erwin Tagure, the 16-year-old earned a spot in the prestigious international competition after winning gold at the World School Muaythai Championship in Malaysia.

Saking’s fight schedule will be determined after the drawing of lots.

Meanwhile, the Philippine delegation to the 2026 IFMA Youth World Championships traveled to Greece on November 5, 2026.

The Muaythai Association of the Philippines (MAP) said the tournament is the final competition the delegation will participate in this year. It also expressed gratitude to the organization and the government for supporting the 15 athletes representing the country.

“The road to Greece was not without challenges, obstacles, and stories yet to be told. But through every uncertainty and breakthrough, God’s hand was evident. This journey became possible through His grace and the support of people who believe in the future of Philippine Muaythai,” MAP said.
