“Tagaytay of the North… Enrile is ready for development”: Mayor Decena woos investors as welcomes S&R investment interest

ENRILE, Cagayan – S&R Membership Shopping is exploring the possibility of opening a branch in Enrile as the municipal government seeks to attract more major investors and boost local economic development.

Mayor Miguel Decena Jr. said representatives of the retail chain had visited the municipality to scout for a suitable location as part of their ongoing feasibility study.

“They came here to scout for a possible location. I believe their feasibility study is still ongoing. As a big company, they are already looking for land in Enrile,” Decena (in Tagalog) said in an interview with local media.

He cited the entry of other major businesses, including Wilcon Depot, which is already operational in the municipality, as an indication of growing commercial interest in Enrile.

Decena said the development prospects have encouraged him to invite more investors, particularly high-end developers who could help transform the mountainous area of Dapang into a tourism and residential destination.

He described the area as a potential “Tagaytay of the North” because of its scenic views, cool climate, and elevated location.

“I will look for high-end developers to develop that mountain because it could become the Tagaytay of the North. The view is beautiful, and the weather is cool up there. I am offering the area to high-end developers,” he said.

He also cited Montana, a residential development in the area that has reportedly reached its third phase, as an example of the growing development potential of the municipality.

Decena expressed optimism that continued investments in retail, tourism, and residential development would create more economic opportunities for Enrile.

S&R Membership Shopping, operated by Kareila Management Corporation, is a membership-based warehouse retail chain offering imported and locally sourced products, groceries, fresh food, electronics, and household essentials.

The possible establishment of an S&R branch would add to Enrile's growing commercial prospects, potentially generating employment and business opportunities for residents.

However, the proposed branch remains subject to the company's feasibility study and investment decisions.
