Tanudan, Kalinga − The 20-meter Lay-asan bridge was finally restored and repaired this September 2021, ensuring the safety of the people, most specifically the students who are using the hanging bridge.

John Ryan Awingan, Executive Assistant of Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag, narrated that the bridge was already too old and worn out that a repair was recommended to safeguard travelers using the bridge on a regular basis.

He said that with the bridge repaired, parents are now at ease in sending their children to school since they no longer have to worry about their children crossing the worn out bridge, which is the only access linking Lay-asan to the Ammaboy Layasan Elementary School and Magtoma National High School,

“Nabayag daytan a hanging bridge ket talaga a kailangan na a ma-repair tapnu haan a delikado ken tapnu haan met lang a ma-hamper dagiti aramiden ken ubra dagiti tattao a magna dita nu kaspagarigan ket agbigay dayta bridge iti kinabayag nan,” Awingan said.

The repair of the hanging bridge costs P100,000 and the funding came from the 20% development fund of the MLGU Tanudan.

Said develop0ment was made possible through the initiative of the Municipal Local Government Unit of Tanudan under the leadership of Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag and the Sangguniang Bayan headed by Vice Mayor Sisi Cosidon.
