Poblacion, Lubuagan – Local Government Unit (LGU) of Lubuagan commends local businesses for their timely renewal and in response recognized first fifty (50) business establishments by giving them special tokens for renewing their permits promptly.
Additionally, the LGU likewise recognized the entrance of new business registrants which shall add to the efforts in reviving the local economy of the municipality. Another set of fifty (50) tokens are also to be awarded to the first new registered businesses.
Acting Municipal Treasurer Malaica Bongngat informed that the giving of tokens to early business registrants have been the practice of the municipality to encourage merchants and the business sector to register timely.
“(Dijay tokens) ket incentive mi nga pang-awis kadagiti business owners nga mapan da ag-renew (wenno) ag-register. Usually i-conconduct mi every first month of the year – oras ti panag-renew ken ag-register,” she said.
The renewal and registration of business permits is usually done until every 10th of January, but this year, it was extended until the 15th of the said month.
Business owners are given until January 30 to register or renew their permits with no interest for unpaid taxes in 2020 in consideration of the effect of the pandemic to their businesses.
Meantime, Lubuagan Mayor Charisma Anne Dickpus lauded the efforts of the LGU employees in assisting the business sector especially that many were greatly affected by lockdown restrictions.
“Our business sectors are the heart of our economy. Rest assured that your LGU will take care of you and we shall always find ways tapnu malakaan kayo ti panag-process in turn of your cooperation to register your businesses directed by law,” she said.

The LGU is still waiting for other new registrants to complete the fifty (50) early registration token awards.
Last year, there were eighty-nine (89) newly registered businesses in Lubuagan and 162 renewed businesses.
