Lubuagan, Kalinga - Lubuagan Mayor Charisma Anne Dickpus expressed gratefulness to local Church leaders for their role in guiding the Local Government Unit (LGU) workers and employees on the delivery of their duty as public servants of the community.

“Lagasat taku ta alla un kanayun cha laoy un Church leaders un mangikarkarag kan chitaku nang-nangruna kanchitaku un awed gubyerno [We are lucky that our Church leaders are always present to pray for us especially for us who are in the government], the mayor said as she voiced to the people her belief that government workers will not be able to carry out their mandate without the intervention of The Creator.

Mayor Dickpus conveyed the message during the LGU’s Inter-Church Prayer Summit held on February 24, 2022, at the Lubuagan Eco-Tourism and Cultural Center.

“Isu ngarud a panagyaman mi dakayo a papastor, cha laoy un papachi. Sikayu ti nangpanayun ti panag-karkararag yu kinyami. We hope that you will not get tired because your guidance helps us fulfil what has commanded of us],” she continued citing Matthew 7:21 from the Bible which read, “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the Will of my Father in heaven will enter.”

Dickpus added that prayers should be seen in action not only through talk to reflect and reciprocate the Love of God.

The mayor encouraged the iLubuagen to listen to the Word of God and be an example, challenging them to invite their families to attend church masses. Dickpus likewise expressed appreciation to the youth for spearheading activities of the churches, saying she hopes that prayers for all iLubuagens by the local Church leaders shall continue to be held.
