Tanudan, Kalinga — Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag told drug peddlers not to bring drugs into Tanudan as the municipality has been trying hard to get rid of its drug-related troubles which have beset communities.

The mayor made this remark in an interview with GURU Press on December 16, after the Municipality of Tanudan was recognized as ‘ideal’ for garnering a ‘high functional’ rating of 95 and 95 during the 2019 and 2020 Anti-Drug Abuse Council Performance Audit.

“Nu adda man mangip-ipan, ay sus apo, pangpangaasi yu ta haan nga idiay Tanudan ti mangip-ipanan yu iti illegal a droga. Ti munisipyo tayo ket haan na nga isardeng nga agtrabaho para iti sumardengan na dayta a maikaniwas nga aramid,” Dagadag emphasized.

Dagadag also appealed to drug users in this town to stop, reiterating that drug use and abuse will ruin one’s life and their family. He also discourages those who want to try the illegal substance, saying, ‘awan pulos iti maala dita, awan pulos’.

Dagadag explained that the Tanudan Local Government Unit, together with the police and the barangay, is relentless in keeping the municipality drug free.

The mayor then called on those who are still using illegal substances to stop, if there still are. He also appealed to those who plan to go back to utilizing illegal drugs as well as those who are planning to try illegal substance not to dare since this could ruin their lives and their family.

“Dawatek a nga nu adda man iti agus-usar iti illegal a drogra ket isardeng yun ta awan pulos iti maala dita, awan pulos. Agbalin ka a selfish dita ta imbis a pang-usar mo iti pamilyam ket igatang mo pay lang iti droga,” he stressed.

“Talaga a maperdi iti pamilya dita a droga isu a makipangpangaasi nak,” he added.

Dagadag assured that the government and the law enforcers in Tanudan will not stop the fight against illegal drugs.
