Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Mushroom Processing and Production Project of the yTabuk Agri-Growers Association was awarded as the Best Department of Labor and Employment - Assisted Livelihood Projects 2022 under Group Category.

The award was conferred to the association during the ceremony led by DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III held on May 27, at the New Coast Hotel, Malate, Manila.

In a press release, DOLE-CAR said the mushroom project was organized in 2019 to aid yKalingas who were mostly living below the poverty line. Throughout the pandemic, the group thrived by partnering with various organizations as its mushroom production and sales continue.

Through the DOLE’s Integrated Livelihood Program, the yTabuk Agri-Growers Association was given P602,601 worth assistance on September 2, 2020.

For winning the said award, the association received certificates of recognition and a P200,000 cash incentive. Additional P100,000 was given to the agri-growers association for winning at the regional level.
