New PRO-COR Chief vows to intensify campaign on illegal drugs, criminality

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Police Regional Office – Cordillera’s (PRO-COR) new director, PBGen. Ronald Lee, in a message during the turn over of command ceremony aired live on Facebook yesterday, said that the campaign against illegal drugs and criminality in the region will be intensified under his watch.


“We shall intensify our campaign against illegal drugs, crime groups, and personalities, arrest of wanted person and the implementation of the one strike policy on illegal gambling,” he remarks.


“We will sustain and strictly implement the chief PNP’s policy of ‘no take of funds’ from illegal sources such as illegal drugs, illegal gambling, and other illegal activities,” he added.

The newly installed police regional director also advised the police personnel to continuously observe strict discipline, to enforce the law without fear, and to enforce them fairly and just.


“Let us observe the guiding principles of discipline, dedication, and service. As police officers, we are mandated to enforce the law without fear or favor, be fair and just,” he reminds.


Also aired during the ceremony were the accomplishments of his predecessor, PBGen. R’win Pagkalinawan. These include the internal cleansing of personnel where out of 9,078 police in the region, around 63 personnel were found to have committed offenses which are considered minimal and that there was a zero backlog in administrative cases. Of the 63, there were 17 cases of misconduct; 33 neglect of duty; 3 irregularity of performance; and 10 involving other offenses.



Zero positive result was maintained during the random and mandatory drug testing among the personnel.


Concerning the campaign on illegal drugs, around P700 million worth of drugs were confiscated in various operations.


As to the arrest of wanted individuals, some 1,951 individuals were arrested where 356 are considered most wanted.

“I will continue to build on what my predecessor, PBGen. R’win S. Pagkalinawan have started ... mahirap talaga kapag snappy ‘yung papalitan mo gaya ni sir R’win. But I assure you that I will do my very best to carry on the advocacies and aspire to do more, to continue bring peace to this region to provide better opportunities to the people,” he said.


PLtGen. Israel Ephraim Dickson presided the turn over of command held at Camp Major Bado Dangwa.


Meantime, the Police Regional Office Cordillera is dubbed as the ‘Home of the Most Disciplined Cops.’
