No total lockdown in Tuguegarao City

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan -The City Local Government of Tuguegarao denies the spreading rumor that a total lockdown is imposed in this city amidst the rising cases of CoViD-19.

The Tuguegarao City Information Office in a Facebook advisory clarified that it is not true that the city will be subjected for total lockdown.

“Panawagan sa lahat na huwag magkalat ng maling balita lalo na ngayong panahon ng pandemya. Manatiling nakasubaybay sa Tuguegarao City Information Office Page para sa mga impormasyon may kaugnayan sa mga abiso, panuntunan at mga hakbang ng lokal na pamahalaan ng lungsod,” the advisory states.

Mayor Atty. Jefferson Soriano meanwhile issued Executive Order No. 39 after it was observed that most of the recorded confirmed cases of COVID-19 came from the offices.

He directed that a 50% work arrangement in government offices shall be observed within the city.

However, the frontline services such as Health and other Medical Services, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Public Order and Security, Food and Agriculture, and the Bureau of Internal Revenue are exempted with the work arrangement.

In addition, Soriano also reinforced the liquor ban through the issuance of Executive Order No. 40 to further prevent the rise of COVID-19 cases. The EO states that the sale and purchase of alcohol is permitted, but drinking in public places is strictly prohibited.

As of March 19, the city has recorded 260 CoViD-19 active cases.
