P2.2M unclaimed stipends for social pensioners in Kalinga to be distributed next week

Tabuk City, Kalinga – To accommodate the 765 indigent senior citizens in Kalinga who were not able to claim their P3, 000 stipend amounting to P2,295,000 during the second semester of regular pay-out for social pension beneficiaries, the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Social Pension office will conduct its final round of pay-out in Kalinga next week, November 29 to December 2, 2021.


There are 15,100 social pension beneficiaries in the province, however, only 14,335 individuals were able to get their stipends during the second semester of pay-out from August to October 31, 2021.


“Nag-conduct kami ti second semester of pay-out ngem adda gamin dagidiay beneficiaries a han a naka-claim due to various reasons like adda da idiay dadduma a lugar, na-lockdown da or nagka-sakit da or any reason nu apay a han da na-claim hence the announcement to give them a chance to receive their stipend,” Project Development Officer April Soliaban said in an interview.

Of the 765 individuals who did not get their stipends, 22 are from Tinglayan, 21 are from Lubuagan, 36 from Tanudan, 115 from Pinukpuk, 14 from Pasil, 13 from Balbalan, and 459 from Tabuk City.


In getting their grants, Soliaban reminded beneficiaries and their representatives to prepare the necessary documents needed, including 2 photocopies of their senior citizen IDs in advance to avoid delay during the distribution. Representatives were likewise warned not to forge signatures.

The Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Kalinga announced that scheduled for November 29 are the municipalities of Tinglayan, Rizal, Tanudan, and Lubuagan while pay-out for beneficiaries in Pinukpuk, Balbalan, and Pasil is on December 1, 2021.


For Tabuk City beneficiaries, they are scheduled to receive their grants on December 2, 2021.


According to SWAD-Kalinga, lists of beneficiaries who were not able to claim their stipends were already given to their respective chapter presidents and to their Office for Senior Citizens’ Affairs (OSCA).


For other concerns, beneficiaries are encouraged to visit the DSWD-SWAD office for any concerns and clarifications regarding the said grant from DSWD.
