Plate number of Aparri VM gunmen's car traced to Nueva Vizcaya State University

Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – The plate number of the getaway vehicle used by Aparri, Cagayan vice mayor gunmen was traced to Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU).

As the investigation for the ambush of Vice Mayor Rommel Alameda and his group progresses, authorities handling the case discovered that the SFN 713 plate number of the white Mitsubishi Adventure utilized by the suspects was registered to the NVSU.

This was based on the records of the Land Transportation Office.

The NVSU, in a statement released on February 20, informed that said plates used by the gunmen were forged. They relayed they turned over the SFN 713 vehicle plate number to the LTO – Nueva Vizcaya on March 5, 2019. Since then, they didn’t have the plate under their care.

They added they already checked the number with LTO – Nueva Vizcaya and the plates are in the agency’s custody.

“This is to STRONGLY REFUTE THE UNVERIFIED AND BASELESS CLAIM IN THE MEDIA that the plates have been stolen from NVSU. Given these facts, the University is certain that the alleged plates spotted in the crime scene are forged plates,” the university conveyed.

Alameda and five others were gunned down on February 19, 2023, along the National Highway in Baretbet, Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya.
