Tuguegarao City — Two employees sustained stab wounds after they were allegedly attacked by their regional manager inside their workplace on Sunday afternoon, May 24, 2026, in Tuguegarao City.

The incident happened at an appliance store along Balzain Highway. The suspect was identified as a 40-year-old resident of Centro 1, Tuguegarao City, while the victims were a 33-year-old collector and a 32-year-old cashier.

Initial police investigation, as cited by local media, revealed that the suspect entered the store around 5:30 p.m. to use the restroom. After using the facility, the manager allegedly called the 33-year-old collector and pointed toward something in the backyard.

While the victim was looking in the direction indicated by the suspect, the manager allegedly stabbed him in the shoulder.

The collector managed to run away from the suspect.

Seeing her colleague fleeing, the 32-year-old cashier approached the suspect but stopped when she noticed blood on the floor. Overwhelmed by fear, she reportedly fell to the ground and begged the suspect to spare her life. However, the manager allegedly bit her knee before stabbing her in the back.

The cashier managed to escape after kicking the suspect, causing him to lose balance and fall to the floor.

Both victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment of the stab wounds they sustained during the attack. The manager was also brought to a medical facility after sustaining injuries during the incident.

Authorities are still conducting a deeper investigation into the attack.
